Who we are
Buzzbo Ltd ("we", "us") operates buzzbo.co.uk, the UK's accessibility-first directory. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: privacy@buzzbo.co.uk.
What we collect
- Account data - name, email address and password when you create an account.
- Provider data - business name, contact details, address and accessibility information you submit for a listing.
- Usage data - aggregate, anonymous statistics about pages visited, collected via privacy-friendly analytics (see "Cookies and local storage" below).
- Enquiries and reviews - messages you send to providers and reviews you post.
Why we collect it
We process data to provide the directory service, verify listings, respond to enquiries, improve the platform, and meet our legal obligations. We never sell personal data.
Cookies and local storage
Buzzbo is built to work with as little tracking as possible.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate, privacy-friendly usage statistics, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. It is cookieless, does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile of you. We do not use Google Analytics (GA4) or any advertising cookies.
Local storage on your device
Some features remember your choices using your browser's local storage rather than cookies. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us for tracking:
- "Remember me" sign-in - if you tick "Remember me" when logging in, your session is kept in your browser's local storage by our authentication provider (Google Firebase) so you stay signed in. Leave it unticked and you are signed out when you close the browser.
- Display preferences - your chosen text size and colour theme.
- Saved accessibility filters - the access needs you choose to filter by.
Essential cookies
A small number of strictly necessary cookies may be set to keep the site secure and protect our forms. These are exempt from consent under UK PECR. Refusing non-essential storage never limits access to accessibility information, and you can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Email privacy@buzzbo.co.uk to exercise any right - we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 90 days of account closure.
